The first rating system simply describes the sender's mailing practices, including whether the sender is certified by a third party, vouched for by IADB and whether the sender has published an email policy record, for the moment either in compliance with the SPF protocol or the Caller ID protocol (which is no longer being used).
The second rating system provides a more detailed description of the sender through the use of a point system.
This service also has relationships with a number of anti-spam reporting services to facilitate dealing with complaints against senders registered in the database.
iCop is offering members two levels of certification, depending on the mailing practices of the sender, along with registration in the Internet Accreditation Database. For newsletter or ezine publishers, this will also include listing in a special database IADB will establish for publishers who follow best practices.
- iCop Email Sender is an iCop Member who follows good mailing practices.
- iCop Trusted Email Sender is an iCop Member who follows excellent mailing practices according to the highest standards.
